Lessons often come from everyday life. We aren't always directly involved in every aspect of God's kingdom, but He places each of us where we can be most effective, not only for ourselves but for the good of the entire kingdom. Wherever God has us working, that is where we are most useful, and we must not let the devil discourage us from fulfilling our part in His plan. This article reflects on the importance of trusting God's ability to place people where they are needed, while also reminding us to have confidence that, even as the world grows more wicked, our brothers and sisters are working diligently for God—Lighting spiritual paths, and doing it for each other.
Building Together: Trusting God’s Plan in Every Task
While driving to work today, I was thinking about the progress being made on the construction site. A few of the workers were setting light posts, and while I wasn't directly helping them, I was busy with another task inside the building. Even though I wasn't directly involved with setting the posts, the project was still moving forward. Setting light posts isn’t an easy task—I’ve done it myself before with the help of my boss and a couple of other workers. I remembered how easy it felt back then because I knew my boss had the experience, and the team I was working with was capable and confident in getting the job done. For me, it was a new experience, and typically, that would stress me out. But I wasn’t worried at all because of the trust I had in their abilities.
Reflecting on this made me think about how our congregation works together in different ways for the Lord. Seeing everyone walk confidently with God gives me peace, because it's not all on me. I’m thankful God has brought us to southern Arizona, where the land is so beautiful, and we can see His creation more than the works of man. We are truly blessed. No matter how wicked the world becomes, I have confidence in God. His plan will prevail, and His people will continue working together until He calls us to our final home.
Key Takeaway
This story reminds us that, just as the workers set physical light posts, we are also called to set spiritual lights. Even when we aren’t directly involved in every task, the work still moves forward through the efforts of others, reflecting how God’s kingdom operates. The trust we place in each other to accomplish tasks, like setting lights, mirrors the trust we must have in God’s plan and in the abilities of those around us. Whether we are physically or spiritually setting lights, the confidence we have in each other is a reflection of our confidence in God's ultimate plan. Through it all, we are blessed to see His handiwork in both the natural world and in the people He places in our lives, lighting the way for all of us.
I went back through and read this again. I love the thoughts here. It is awesome the way God sets his members in place and we all have different abilities that blend so well to help His work go forward.
Thank you for such a great word of encouragement, brother! Very good.
