Our Story: Continuing the Old Paths in Southern Arizona
In the rugged beauty of Palominas, Arizona, a congregation gathers—not by accident, but by divine direction. Palominas Chapel Church of God is more than a place; it's a gathering of believers who have answered God's call to "Learn, Live, Lead" in faithful obedience to His Word.
A Legacy of Faithfulness
God's preparation for Palominas Chapel began years before the Arizona desert ever came into view. In 2001, He called Dr. Nathan Harding into ordained ministry through ecclesiastical endorsement, placing him in service as a police chaplain and assistant military chaplain. After nearly two years as youth pastor, God's next step came on May 7, 2007, when—under the tutelage and approval of his father, Pastor G. William Harding—he was entrusted with shepherding a small group of saints.
The congregation eventually moved to Ohio, at the request of Pastor William Harding, where Pastor Nathan was re-ordained for that location, faithfully serving for nearly 16 years. During that time, God expanded the work to include oversight of two other congregations before uniting them into one body. During this time, Pastor Nathan and his Brother Marcus worked closely together in the ministry. Through every relocation, every challenge, every season of growth, God was writing a larger story...
Led to the Desert
In 2023, following God's unmistakable direction, our pastor and his wife stepped together out in faith. They purchased land in the Palominas area, and together with other committed saints, God established what is now Palominas Chapel Church of God. Here, in the high desert of southern Arizona, a new chapter began—not as a break from the past, but as a continuation of the "old paths" in a new place.
As our pastor approaches his 20-year pastoring milestone and over 25 years in ordained ministry, this congregation stands as a testament to God's faithfulness through decades of dedicated shepherding, unwavering service, and its passion for preserving the gospel in its purity
Who We Are
Palominas Chapel is the venue where the church of God in Palominas, Arizona, gathers to worship. We are members of the kingdom of God, not divided from other disciples. We fellowship with all born-again believers: those who accept Jesus as the Son of God, who have received the Holy Spirit, and who obey the Bible's teachings. We worship alongside several other Christ-centered, Bible-based, and Spirit-led congregations.
Our history doesn't begin in 2023, or even 2007. It traces back through time itself—from Adam through Seth (when men first began to call upon the Lord), through Noah, Abraham, David, and Jesus to the apostles. From the first apostle of Jesus until now, countless faithful men and women have helped bring us the complete gospel and truth of God. We stand on that foundation—not upon a single person's or group's legacy, but upon the solid rock of Scripture and the faithful witness of saints across the ages.
Our Mission: Learn, Live, Lead
Under the guidance of our spiritual leadership, our congregation is committed to three pillars:
-
Learn: Growing in knowledge of God's Word and the old paths of holiness
-
Live: Walking in faithful obedience and Spirit-led sanctification
-
Lead: Guiding others by example and spreading the gospel with passion
This isn't just a motto—it's our way of life. Together, we have cultivated a congregation where believers don't just attend church; they belong to a spiritual family committed to learning, living, and leading by God's Word.
