Membership

The term "membership" can sometimes feel confusing because it carries different meanings depending on whether we're speaking spiritually or legally. At our heart, we have always believed that membership in God's Kingdom—true salvation—is His work alone. Our role as a church is simply to lead people to the Savior, who performs that final, beautiful work of grace in each person's life.

However, to steward our resources faithfully and remain in harmony with Arizona and federal law, we operate as a nonprofit corporation. This legal structure—formally titled Palominas Chapel Church of God, Inc. (doing business as Palominas Chapel)—allows us to own property, offer tax exemptions on your generous donations, and maintain legal compliance.

While there is no "membership" in the corporation itself, nonprofit regulations and our bylaws require a formal process for joining and maintaining membership within the congregation. It's important to understand that formal membership does not grant salvation, nor does it make you a shareholder in a corporation. Rather, it is a covenant commitment to walk together in fellowship, granting members specific privileges such as the ability to serve in leadership roles and access certain congregational and pastoral resources. We see it as a way to organize our church family so we can better serve the Lord together.
