People without God often avoid quiet moments of reflection. However, the Bible says, 'If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.' When you serve Him, it’s hard not to reflect on His goodness! Today's article explores how God brings peace, joy, and lasting change to a person's life.
A New Morning in Christ's Love
As I was driving to work Monday morning, I found myself smiling, thinking about the joy and laughter I shared over the weekend with other believers in Christ. I felt overwhelmed by God’s love and began reflecting on my past—the years of abuse in my childhood, the pain, and the scars. I remembered the days of my youth, trying to numb that pain with drugs and alcohol, waking up each morning with no idea if I had hurt someone the night before in my altered state of mind.
Today, I am deeply thankful that God saw fit to have mercy on me, giving me a second chance to live and to escape a path that was destroying me. I’m also grateful for the people of God who aren’t afraid to live out the truth and be examples, regardless of how the world may view them. If you seek peace and joy, know it can only be found in Jesus Christ. And if you believe in Christ but aren’t connected to a group of people who encourage and strengthen your walk, you’ll struggle—yet it doesn’t have to be that way.
The Bible says in Hebrews 10:25 (KJV): "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching." The "day approaching" that is spoken of here could be today—we don’t know how much time we have in this life, so don’t wait. God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. Ezekiel 33:11 reminds us: "Say unto them, As I live, says the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn you, turn you from your evil ways; for why will you die...?" This warning isn’t just for old Israel—it’s for all of humanity.
Key takeaway
God has the power to lift us from our struggles and deliver us from life’s darkest moments, replacing them with peace, joy, and true friendships. In Him, we are no longer defined by our past or our hardships but by His grace and the new life He gives as we live to please Him.
